I desire to see Christians expending time, talents and strength for higher and nobler objects than the weak and glittering follies of secret oath bound societies

Richard Williamson: Freemasonry in the Church
Since Freemasonry generally categorizes itself as a fraternal organization, some professing Christians have been led to believe that becoming a Freemason will not conflict with their religious beliefs. This is most certainly false given that Masonic rites like blood oaths, which are prohibited in the Bible, are taken at various degrees of induction into Freemasonry. Secondly, while Freemasons maintain that their organization is not religious its tenets consist of many diversified religious beliefs, which are all equally esteemed.
