Some of the best and brightest among us are numbered with those societies; and it is on this account that we make these remarks. We desire to see these noble men expending their time, talents and strength for higher and nobler objects than any that can be attained by the weak and glittering follies of odd-fellowship and freemasonry.
We are to expose those who are deceiving people. We are to bring to light the lies and deception they are fooling others with. We are to bring their sinful deeds to light. This is so that we can help others to not be deceived. But we must first expose these things in ourselves. We must expose them to the light of the Word of God and to the Holy Spirit. We do that by recognizing them, confessing them, repenting or turning from them, and obeying what the Lord wants us to do. How do we know what? By constant use of the Bible and asking the Holy Spirit to expose the darkness within us. Only when we do that can we expose the darkness in others and perhaps help them to the light.
